Quadax Open House

By: Cyndi Palmer, Marketing/Communications Manager

On Saturday, November 15th, Quadax celebrated the opening of our new facility with a gathering of clients, associates, business partners and friends.  The weather was cold and wet, but inside our new corporate headquarters the atmosphere was warm and festive.  Guests sampled a variety of appetizers and desserts and enjoyed the music of a string quartet.

A number of officials from the City of Middleburg Heights attended the event, including Mayor Gary Starr, several members of City Council, and Economic Development Director Charles Bichara.  Mayor Starr presented a Proclamation which states, in part:

Whereas: Mayor Gary Starr, City Council, Economic Development Director Charles Bichara, the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals worked closely with the Quadax Administration to bring the Quadax Headquarters to the City of Middleburg Heights; and

Whereas: Quadax has made a significant investment in the architectural modernization of their site, resulting in a complete renovation of their new location, expanding the facility from the original 85,000 square feet to the current 100,000 square feet; and

Whereas: By choosing to remain in Northeast Ohio, Quadax has significantly impacted the job force in the City of Middleburg Heights and in our region.

Now therefore, I Gary W. Starr, Mayor of the City of Middleburg Heights, do hereby commend Quadax for its significant contributions and investment in the City of Middleburg Heights.  Quadax has contributed to the continued economic well-being of the City of Middleburg Heights and surrounding communities.

Councilman Tim Ali, Economic Development Director Charles Bichara, Councilman David Bortolotto, Council President Alan Budney, Quadax CEO John Leskiw, Quadax founder Ralph Daugstrup, Quadax CEO Tom Kish, Mayor Gary Starr, Councilman Raymond Guttmann, and Councilman James Herron.

The upgrades to the building referenced in the Proclamation took place after Quadax acquired the building in 2007, before moving in on July 28, 2008.  The building, originally built in 1979, featured an award-winning open-office design that Quadax capitalized on to make a bright, pleasant workspace for the more than 300 employees in this location.  For the renovation, Quadax worked with RDL Architects, Inc., Mulle + Associates, Inc. (Interior Design), Albert M. Higley Company (General Contractor) and a number of subcontractors.  The renovation included the addition of office space, a third-floor conference center, an elevator, many new windows and a clerestory giving lots of natural light, and a stunning front entrance.

Quadax A/R Services CEO John Leskiw holds the Proclamation while Don Lydon of Lydon Realty looks on.

Quadax founder Tom Hockman greets a guest introduced by Chuck Mills of Charles E. Mills, Attorney at Law.

Among the many compliments to the building and its designers throughout the evening, one particularly thoughtful comment came from Terry Buterbaugh of EMH Regional Healthcare System who remarked that it was clear the designers had employees’ morale in mind when forming the plans for this space.

Quadax is proud of our new facility and pleased with the admiration for it expressed at our Open House.  However, it’s the people who come to this building every day to work that make Quadax the company our clients can trust for excellent service and value.  They are to be commended for the significant contributions to Quadax success that has made this new facility possible.
