Ohio Medicaid Announces Date for New Claims Processing System
Ohio Medicaid announced that it will finally replace its outdated Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for claims processing with the enhanced Ohio Medicaid Information Technology System (MITS). The scheduled go-live date for the new system is December 7, 2010.
Highlights of the new MITS are:
- Acceptance of the UB04 instead of the UB92
- New and enhanced MITS Web Portal
- Online processing of provider enrollment applications
- Web submission of Prior Authorization
- Online claims inquiry, adjustments, and re-submissions
- Utilization of complete diagnosis (ICD-9) codes to provide the highest specificity for a diagnosis
- Addition of a clinical claims editor
- New look and format for remittances
