HARP Development Progresses

By Tom Cronin, Manager of Quality Assurance

2004 was another productive year for the HARP development team. Throughout the year, 30 new releases of HARP were implemented, containing 289 enhancements. Highlights during the year include newly designed patient statements and collection letters. These forms were given a fresh look, using 8 ½" by 11" templates with new colors. In addition, new features and information were added, such as credit card information and the ability to make the forms customizable to your needs. Major enhancements were also made to the roster statements.

This past year saw many upgrades to HARP's remittance processing system. Bundled charges, line matching for line item receipt posting, and non-assigned claims are just a few of the enhancements made to this system. A total of 19 payers were either added to the system or converted to the standard ANSI format.

In 2005, we will continue to enhance the HARP software, supply you with new software manuals, and develop HARP to run in UNIX and Windows environments. With this commitment, we continue to dedicate ourselves to improving the management of your receivables.

The next major release of HARP is scheduled to be implemented in February. With this release, HARP will now be able to check patient eligibility* for Ohio Medicaid. Eligibility uses the patient demographic information already in HARP and creates an eligibility transaction that is sent to Xpeditor. An eligibility response will be loaded back into HARP. More payers will be enabled for eligibility in the near future.

Finally, the new Report Manual will also be published in February. The manual will include instructions on how to select, format, view, print, and download reports. It contains complete and up-to-date information on all HARP reports.
