Resources for the ICD-10 Transition
As Quadax moves forward with our implementation of ICD-10 in our various products, I would like to share a few online resources that we have found valuable in guiding us smoothly on the path to ICD-10 implementation. These websites provide information, resources, and tips on how to manage the transition to ICD-10.
CMS ICD-10 Overview
Website: http://www.cms.gov/ICD10/01_Overview.asp
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is the central authority guiding the transition to ICD-10 in the United States. On their ICD-10 Overview page, CMS provides a number of helpful items, such as articles, transcripts, and recordings of past informational conference calls, and ICD-10 resources. To keep the public updated on new articles or resources on the ICD-10 Overview page, as well as to inform providers and other health care companies about upcoming ICD-10 informational conference calls, CMS created an e-mail notification system. To sign up for these notifications:
- Go to the CMS ICD-10 Overview page.
- Click the CMS ICD-10 Industry E-mail Updates link.
- Click the To Subscribe to the CMS ICD-10 E-mail Updates link.
- Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail Address field.
- Click Go.
AHIMA ICD-10
Website: http://www.ahima.org/ICD10/default.aspx
The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) created a website and monthly newsletter to help professionals in the health information management field better manage the transition to ICD-10. AHIMA provides articles and resources that not only help to explain how to implement the coming ICD-10 changes, but also take an in-depth look at how the change to ICD-10 affects the health information management profession. While some resources are available on the AHIMA ICD-10 website, access to the full range of articles and the newsletter requires an AHIMA membership.
