Quadax Receives a Special Corporate Sponsorship Award from the American Red Cross

By: Emily Emmerich, Marketing Communication Specialist

Since early 2009, Quadax has hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive onsite as a way to show our dedication to our community and our employees. The American Red Cross is constantly in great need of blood products for emergencies, treatment of cancer patients, and surgeries, and having a blood drive during the workday makes it convenient for employees to make the donation.

Earlier this October, Quadax was awarded the Corporate Sponsorship Award for our ongoing support for the Northern Ohio American Red Cross. Katherine Stankivicz, American Red Cross Donor Recruitment Representative, said she nominated Quadax to receive this prestigious award because of our high participation rate in their blood drives, which sometimes reaches almost twenty percent of the corporate office.

At Quadax, we try to create a pleasant atmosphere for our employees during the drive by accepting employees’ donations of baked goods and fruit. We also run a small raffle where employees can win small promotional items.

When we started our drive in 2009, we collected 111 pints from two blood drives. Our participation rate went up the following year and we collected 118 pints from two drives. This year we added a third drive and successfully collected 190 pints. Each pint of blood collected has the potential of saving three lives.

Some of the other companies and organizations that were honored this year were:
GoJo Industries
Medical Mutual
Case Western Reserve University
Walsh University
Cleveland Clinic
MetroHealth Medical Center
Cleveland Browns

Stankivicz added, “They (Quadax) are exceptionally organized, and their donors are very well educated. The organization as a whole has committed to supporting our lifesaving mission, and it shows at each of their drives.”

As a corporation, we always strive to put people first, and we feel that our partnership with the American Red Cross reflects our commitment to the community and our own organization. We are thankful for our employees’ efforts and look forward to hosting three successful blood drives for the American Red Cross in 2012!
