J1 MAC Transition from WPS to Palmetto
Some providers serviced by WPS will transition to the Jurisdiction 1 A/B MAC, administered by Palmetto GBA, on April 19, 2010. After the transition, Palmetto will handle all inquiries and appeals for claims processed prior to that date.
While the transition is completed, there will be "Dark Days" from Friday, April 16 through Tuesday, April 20, 2010, when claims are not processed. On these Dark Days, there also will be no online access to the Medicare claims processing system or the Palmetto GBA J1 Interactive Voice Response (IVR) or Provider Contact Center (PCC).
