Axis™ by Quadax Is Now AHA RACTrac-Compatible
Axis™, the hosted application for management of audits by Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs) and other audit authorities, has received approval from the American Hospital Association as a RACTrac-compatible vendor solution.
The American Hospital Association (AHA) developed the RACTrac Survey to gather data to support AHA’s advocacy efforts on behalf of hospitals nationwide with regard to the Recovery Audit Contractor program, as well as educational initiatives. Survey data is expected to provide the AHA with insight into RAC trends, affording opportunity to confront policy or practical implementation issues as warranted. By deeming selected audit management products “RACTrac-compatible,” AHA is verifying that the products have been tested and are able to accurately supply data for RACTrac survey purposes.
Axis, part of the Audit ControlX suite of products and services, enables providers to track, manage, and respond to audit requests with accuracy and timeliness to appropriately defend reimbursement, maximize efficiency, and minimize disruption to business office productivity. Quadax initially developed Axis in response to Medicare’s RAC demonstration, but chose to engineer the application with a high degree of flexibility to not only meet the objectives and fit the environments of various provider types, but also to be effective for management of multiple audit types.
Providers using Xpeditor by Quadax for Claims Management are able to retrieve demographic, claim and payment information, eliminating cumbersome data entry, and receive relevant documents directly from Xpeditor for examination during case workflow and submission, if necessary, to the RAC. Other documents on a provider’s network may also be retrieved and added to a case; all documents are then stored in a central repository so that, should a RAC lose records, resubmission is hassle-free. Much more than a data storage cabinet, however, Axis shines in its automated workflow capabilities and comprehensive reporting, delivered in a user-friendly but powerful package.
RACTrac survey data tabulation is also a user-friendly process in Axis: with one mouse click, Axis automatically enters much of the data required for the RACTrac survey, which appears on a replica of the AHA’s own form. Users are able to then supplement that information with additional data before one more mouse-click generates the comma-delimited file required by AHA.
