Tricare Regions

New Tricare North Region

Starting June 2004, The Military Health System is restructuring from 11 regions and 7 contractors to 3 regions (North, South and West) and 3 contractors. Effective July 1, 2004, Health Net Federal Services (HNFS) will administer the TRICARE program for the states that are in the current Mid-Atlantic and Heartland Regions, which will become part of the North Region. This region has 20 states, including Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, New York and Kentucky.

Letters were sent to Providers concerning the new Provider Tax ID number and suffix(es) to be used when billing claims. Quadax will continue to transmit these claims electronically. However, if your Group Provider number has changed, please notify your service representative so that our records can be updated.
