Scheduled Downtime

By: Mark Sprowl, Director of Information Systems, Partner

I love it when a plan comes together! As I peer out my window I see an emergency generator being unloaded, which will be capable of providing all of Quadax's main office with power. As you may already know, the Quadax web site and hosted systems will be unavailable from 7:00 P.M. Friday May 14th, until 6:00 A.M. Monday May 17th so that we may have the generator and transfer switch integrated into our building's power supply. This planned service outage will eliminate any future unplanned outages due to external power emergencies. Please contact your service consultant if you have any questions.

Plans to equip our building with emergency power have been in the works for some time. Quadax co-founder Ralph Daugstrup has pushed the idea for several years, and states that "this makes 24/7 a reality for Quadax." Last March, before the blackout, analysis and planning began. The blackout increased the demand for generators, slightly delaying their availability. In the past few weeks I have watched it come together as a mud hole was transformed into two concrete pads with the new generator and a transfer switch.

These steps are only the latest in a series of efforts Quadax has undertaken to reduce unscheduled downtime. We will continue to make improvements which increase our reliability so that we can be here for you.
