End of an Era

On January 8, 2006, Quadax created its last weekly UB-92 OH Medicaid tape containing Secondary and Tertiary claims to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS). We have been sending these reel-to-reel tapes to ODJFS weekly for more than 30 years. But while this was the preferred method to transfer data back and forth between businesses for decades, it is now antiquated in today’s electronic world and has been replaced with high speed communications. Despite the fact that we have been sending daily ANSI 837 files to ODJFS via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for Primary claims for quite some time, most of the COB claims were still being sent on tape.
Quadax has been working with ODJFS to convert these claims to the ANSI 837 format and is confident that claims can be successfully transmitted using this format and transmission mechanism. Since January 6, 2006, we have been sending these claims electronically in a separate file on a daily basis in the ANSI 837 format. This will allow Quadax to better meet our clients' needs (and bottom line) by getting these claims to the payer in a more timely and up-to-date fashion.
