Sixth Annual Partners' Dinner

By: Marketing and Technical Communications Manager

The sixth annual Partners’ Dinner, held once again at the Yacht Club in Cleveland, January 12, 2006, was a celebration of “our best year ever,” according to Tom Kish, CEO, EDI Services.

Reviewing the achievements of 2005, Tom highlighted the growth of our EDI Services division into new territory and new prominence with industry-leading product offerings; the success of our QuadMax solutions, bringing greater value to Integrated Document Imaging; and especially the latest innovations in our A/R Services group related to Laboratory Revenue Cycle Management. Quadax has earned a national reputation for excellence in billing, collecting, and managing the revenue cycle for laboratories in every discipline, including Laboratory Outreach programs, Independent and Reference Laboratories, and Laboratory Networks. Now Quadax has applied its expertise to assist the fastest growing segment of laboratory services, molecular diagnostic testing, with the development of our own Patient Advocacy Center.

The Patient Advocacy Center’s mission, to work with patients, providers and payers to facilitate the authorization and reimbursement of revolutionary new tests, is fulfilled through the use of the Patient Advocacy System (PAS). PAS is a comprehensive application carefully developed by our own staff; Gene Calai, VP, Information Systems and Partner, was recognized during the evening’s proceedings for his valuable work on this system.

Sue Young, Production Manager, A/R Services and Partner, also received special recognition for her “extraordinary contribution” and “selfless efforts” in support of Stanford University Medical Center Clinical Laboratory during the past year.

Gene and Sue are just two of many individuals that Tom Kish was referring to when he said, “We have a very talented and motivated organization that is challenged by new opportunities and the dream of doing even better.” A highlight of the annual Partners’ Dinner is the addition of some of those talented people to the Partner program.

Our new Partners

The Quadax Partner program affords key individuals the opportunity to benefit from our corporate success. Achieving Partner status are those employees who, through years of service, have demonstrated dedication to the company, have made significant contributions toward the fulfillment of corporate objectives, and function in a capacity that enables them to have a direct impact on corporate profitability.

This year, the honor of Partnership was conferred to five worthy Quadax employees: Tom Cronin, Nick Halpin, Mike Kovacs, Ann McLemore, and Mark Tibbs.

Tom Cronin came to Quadax from QualChoice, joining our Tom CroninSystems group as a programmer in 1996. Since 2000, Tom has managed our Quality Assurance department, building a strong software testing and documentation organization to ensure that HARP remains a superior software product in the healthcare marketplace. One reflection of his commitment to personal and professional growth was Tom’s pursuit and attainment of his MBA while working full-time here at Quadax. Tom inspires his team to similarly set and achieve goals, and under his leadership, they have had an outstanding record of success.

Nick Halpin has worn a lot of hats since he began his career with Nick HalpinQuadax in 1988, but one constant through the years has been his dedication to see that whatever job is before him is done proficiently and professionally, even when that has meant setting aside his own plans. Nick has proven himself again and again as the “go-to” person for a myriad of technical considerations and now functions as Xpeditor Implementation Team (XIT) Technical Leader. Nick’s diligence has been important, not only to the success of the many Xpeditor implementations of which he has been a part, but also to the success of EDI Services overall.

Mike Kovacs joined the Quadax team with a background in Mike Kovacsthe administration and support of emergency department billing, ready to learn the specifics of laboratory revenue cycle management. In his five years with the company, Mike has “gone from learning to teaching us,” according to John Leskiw, CEO, A/R Services. As an Account Executive, Mike supports five of our 10 largest clients, and he does it with a personal dedication that has earned him the respect of coworkers, clients, and others in the industry. The ideals of the Quadax Partner Program are fully embodied in Mike, demonstrated through his exemplary work ethic and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Ann McLemore superbly manages 13 of our 17 outreach Ann McLemorelaboratory accounts within A/R Services; under her management, the Days in Receivable and collections for these accounts have consistently met or exceeded expectations. Ann’s value to our team goes beyond the 14 years of medical billing experience she brought to Quadax. Her dedication, motivation, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills have won her the respect and admiration of her employees, coworkers and clients; they are also emblematic of the Quadax mission, and aptly demonstrate why Quadax is the leader in Laboratory Revenue Cycle Management.

Mark Tibbs has been an asset to Quadax since 1990, when, as an employee of our outside accounting firm, he was responsible for overseeing the management of our company’s financial reporting and tax compliance. It was only natural, then, to act to secure the benefit of Mark’s expertise by bringing him on staff in 1999 as our Corporate Controller. By moving the accounting function from a completely manual operation to an integrated computerized system, as well as creating new revenue, expense, and profit reporting for each group within the corporation, Mark has continued to appreciate in value to our organization. It is only natural now to recognize Mark’s intelligence, integrity, and dependability as the hallmarks of a Quadax Partner.

Tom Kish’s further remarks and his inspirational challenge to the group assembled, now comprising 35 individuals, illustrated Quadax’s appreciation for the example of these individuals:

“We are very fortunate and blessed at Quadax. We have all three of the components for success working for us: good financial performance, a strong customer base, and an outstanding workforce. The achievements we are realizing are not an accident or just good luck. We’ve worked hard to get where we are today, and there is no reason why the rewards should not keep coming as long as we stay on track. It takes hard work and devotion to our task of building our company’s future and our own. So let’s keep focused this year.”

That’s a mission the entire Quadax family can embrace—and will, as we work to continue to create value for healthcare organizations through innovative business solutions built on superior technology, enhanced with excellent service.
